NNPCL retail stations in Abuja, specifically in Wuse Zone 6 and Zone 4, have increased their petrol pump price to N905 per litre, up from the previous price of N890 per litre. This adjustment marks an upward increase of N15, representing a 1.7 per cent hike.
Abubakar Maigandi, the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), attributed the recent hike to supply disruptions stemming from a recent industrial dispute.
Maigandi specifically referenced the feud between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Dangote Refinery.
“It is due to PENGASSAN’s strike disruption,” he said.
The PENGASSAN dispute with Dangote Refinery arose over the mass sacking of Nigerian workers, leading to a two-day strike action which has since been suspended following the intervention of the Federal Government.
